Another Way Cool Cover

Nice to see this very sharp AMSOIL lubricated 2005 Subaru WRX STI made the August cover of Max Power UK. The AMSOIL brand is gaining visibility around the globe.

At a recent SEMA Show, the author of this blog rode to the airport in a taxi with a former racer from Belgium who used to fly to London to get his AMSOIL products. the stories are varied, but contain a common theme. The products are great and greatly desired.

Stephen Ng built this 400 plus horsepower Flat Red STI for the SEMA Show last year. It was located in the Seibon booth and now has graced two covers for us here at AMSOIL. He runs AMSOIL 20w-50 Synthetic Oil, Ea Oil Filter, DOT4 Brake Fluid and Antifreeze.

Ng learned how to do modifications by reading tuner zines. In 2005 when Stephen purchased his new ride, he knew there would be bright future for him and his new found pride and joy. The first modification he made was adding the M-Sports Widebody kit. Stephen chose a bold custom flat red paint, accented by a Seibon carbon fiber hood, doors, roof and trunk. Stephen and his STI got lots of recognition at the Seibon booth at the Sema Show in Vegas.

Under the hood, Stephen installed a Zerosports air intake, Tanabe full turbo back exhaust stem, Mishimoto radiator, hose kit and fans to complement the already sleek design of the engine bay. With each additional modification this car was destined to be a legend in the tuner scene.

No tuner build is complete without AMSOIL synthetic lubricants and performance products. Nice piece of work, Mr. Ng.... and best to you in all your future builds.

Street Rod Nationals Just Around the Corner

If it isn't one thing, it's another. No sooner have we finished our 35th Anniversary Convention here than we have to get our head out of the clouds and feet back on the ground preparing for the next event. The street rod scene it is the 39th Annual Street Rod Nationals that a lot of folks are gearing up for. Louisville's the place. July 31 thru August 3 are the dates. If you love the cars, bring along a lawn chair and get up close to the curb because all day every day it's a parade. An estimated 10,000 to 15,000 vintage cars will be on hand this year for the largest show of its type anywhere in the world.

This will be the fourteenth year the NSRA Nationals will be held in Louisville. The first event was held in Peoria in 1970 featuring 600 rodders. Since then the nationals have been hosted by Columbus OH, St. Paul MN, Oklahoma City OK, Memphis TN, Tulsa OK, Detroit MI, and Syracuse NY. But Louisville's become the major center of this gathering.

There will be more than 300 manufacturers of specialty equipment as well as an AMSOIL presence. If it has moving parts, nothing protects and performs like AMSOIL synthetic lubricants.

The images here, taken last year, offer a pretty good flavor of what's about to take place in the week to come.

35th Anniversary Convention Just Around Corner

The planning begins more than a year in advance. Committees are formed, responsibilities delegated. Themes are proposed. Discarded themes slip away and a single theme emerges that encompasses the company vision, its history and its future. This year's theme: A Winning Formula.

AMSOIL, The First in Synthetics, officially came to be in July 1972. After a ten year quest, Lt. Col. A. J. Amatuzio brought to market the first synthetic motor oil to satisfy API certification standards. Today, the company offers a broad product line and a grass roots presence in the marketplace that has changed the way people think about changing oil.

That first can of AMZOIL Super Premium 100% Synthetic Motor Oil stated the extended oil change interval benefit that has made the company famous: "25,000 Miles or One-Year"... and the rest is history.

In a few days the company will celebrate its 35th anniversary. Nearly a thousand Dealers and friends will gather here in the Twin Ports and share in the extravaganza. New products will be introduced. New programs will be presented. And a renewed energy will be generated.

The best is yet to come.

AMSOIL Shines at "Back to the Fifties"

There were cars galore at the 35th annual MN Street Rodder Association's Back to the Fifties event in St. Paul this past weekend. The gathering was the endpoint in Street Rodder's Road Tour which passed through Superior, WI last week.

AMSOIL CFO John Hosler described the scene like this: "At the show you can see everything from pristine frame off restored trailer queens to down & dirty rat rods – from survivors to drivers to brands which have unfortunately gone away like Auburn, Studebaker, Oldsmobile, Willys, Henry J., Hudson, Simpson, Packard, etc. – sedans to rags to woodies. They were all there, 11,693 of them in fact." More than 60,000 people per day came to pay homage to these vintage cars and the memories they foster.

It was a special delight to have Jo Coddington on hand for the duration, a classic car enthusiast in her own right. Jo rode in Jerry Dixey's lead car for the part of leg three of the Road Tour and was delighted to see so many familiar faces and enthusiastic youth getting introduced to the rodder scene.

For those car collectors whose rides don’t fit into MSRA there is the Minnesota Street Machine Association (MSMA) featuring muscle cars and cars of the 60s & beyond in conjunction with Car Craft magazine another sizable show at State Fairgrounds in July.
